2005 season

You are invited to come perform at Central Park Swings on selected Sundays at the band shell in Central Park. The exposure you will get is unique, and we are happy to offer this opportunity to you. If you are selected, here are our terms:

What you get:
-Exclusively Perform in the Band Shell in Central Park.
-Our sound system of a mixer and two JBL EON 10's that you can plug into.
-We give you 75% of what we collect in donations during the event. We guarantee you $75.  Remember, all donations are split 75% to you and 25% to us. Any band, whether a trio or a 6 piece, will get the same arrangement, so you may want to keep that in mind.

Our event goes from 3 -6:30PM now, and the bands will play through the hours of 4:00-6:30. We will have a DJ to cover any breaks you may need. Please indicate which date(s) you would be interested in performing, along with your contact information -- due to weather considerations, if we need to cancel the event, you will be informed by noon on the day you are scheduled to perform. If the event is cancelled, you will not be paid.

Here are some important details --

Regarding weather: Since weather is a factor, these events may be cancelled. In the event of a cancellation, no money will be paid out as no money will come in. Cancellations will be made by 12noon day of the event so you will need to provide contact information. In the event of a cancellation, we will offer you a rain date if one is available.
Regarding logistics: The city will not allow any vehicles to be brought into the park so everything must be carried in. Use of electricity is available for things like an electric bass or piano. You will be able to tap into our moderate sound system for some amplification. The band shell is an acoustically efficient space and you may discover that you don't need much amplification.
Regarding Advertising: The permit s we possess don't allow for vending or advertising during the event. However, you may hang a banner with your band name behind you, and you may have band information available for people who ask. I don't think there would be any problem with selling your cd's as well as long as you don't have a table set up for that purpose.
