After the most well-attended Jazz Age Lawn Party to date last June, The Jazz-Age Lawn Party returns to enchanting Governors Island to greet the coming of Autumn. Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra will perform on this hidden gem just off the southeastern tip of Manhattan, nestled in the heart of majestic New York Harbor. Under a shady grove of centuries-old trees, caressed by fresh sea air, a sprawling green surrounded by historic officers’ quarters and 18th century naval ramparts becomes the setting for a true Gatsby affair. Blessed with a rich vocal range, an innate skill for lyrical interpretation and a soul-deep understanding of music as a means of healing, empowerment and celebration, Simone is very much her mother’s daughter, but she is most assuredly a multi-talented artist in her own right. With a fantastic career as a Broadway star (Aida, Rent, The Lion King) under her belt, she has now embarked on a solo singing career with a big band tribute to her mom on the CD Simone on Simone.
